All four kids on a beach vacation

Max at 2, Laura at 6, Beth at 4, Rachel at 5.
A photo that always makes me as happy as we felt at this time. Again, we're on vacation, Max at 2, Laura at 6, Beth at 4, Rachel at 5. Beth is wearing a hand-me-down dress that, to this day, Laura and I remember being among our favorite dresses. I love how Beth is holding her purse — probably the only purse she ever owned — with a sand shovel. I don't know where my gloved look came from, nor the floral dress, but I still favor both almost forty years later.
