In the movie, several of the drivers are combined into a few characters. D.W. Moffett portrays the most important of those drivers, "Rick," who combines the characters of Rick and Jacob in the book. That means he is one of Beth's best driver friends, and is also the handsome driver who Beth hopes Rachel will come to love. Some fans who have seen photos of D.W. Moffett are convinced that bus drivers are about to become the new sex symbol. Move over Ralph Kramden!
